Selva JN writes across three shelves that turn out to share the same underlying question: what does it actually take for a person to become who they're capable of being? In his mystery fiction, that question plays out as plot, in Murders on Mars Express and the novels that follow. In The SJN Method, a series of applied-psychology journals, it plays out as practice, daily, specific, repeatable work on the internal systems, self-image, belief, and habit, that quietly decide how much of life a person lets themselves have. And in Detective Owl's Casebook, it starts even earlier, activity books that build the cognitive groundwork, memory, focus, reasoning, pattern recognition, kids will eventually use to ask that same question themselves.
Each one meets that question at a different stage of life, in a different form.
